Missions

Missions Team Meetings - Second Tuesday of each Month @ 6:00pm at CVCC

Over the last few years CVCC has steadily increased it's support and work in Missions throughout the world. 2008 marked an enormous "leap of faith" for us as a body as we increase our Missions budget to over 6 times its previous 2007 level. This amount now makes up 20% of our entire church budget. Our missions team takes it's mission statement from Acts 1:8 "...you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Our Jerusalem is Thousand Oaks and the Conejo Valley as a whole. The areas where we have been able to help have included:

• The Crop Walk for hunger - Church World Services
• YMCA Prayer Breakfast
• Many Mansions
• Santa Comes to Agoura
• Lutheran Social Services
• Manna
• Angel Food Ministries

Our Judea and Samaria includes our Nation as a whole and into Mexico where we have extended support to:

• Casa Hogar Belin
• Operation Gratitude
• Alzheimer's Association
• Red Bird Mission

In the rest of the world we have seen such exciting opportunities for service both in person and by providing financial support for ministries such as:

• Lily of the Valley Aids Orphanage and LoVE (an organization started out of our church)
• Orphanage in Zambia
• Child Support for World Vision and Lily Children
• Cambodia Jesus Film support

By increasing our dedication and commitment to God's work around the world we have witnessed a dynamic growth in the lives and spiritual journeys of our members. In a time and world where the need is overwhelming and we often can feel discouraged or 'too small to do anything' we are learning that every little bit counts and we can make a difference.
